One of the most beautiful of the colonial hymns, “When Jesus Wept” is poignant and powerful. The purity and simplicity of this familiar canon has been unaltered, but Robert Roesch has added dimension and depth with a dramatic organ accompaniment. Unison and two-part writing make this piece easy to learn. If we think upon the profound message of this timeless choral, perhaps we, too, would be caused to tremble.
