Visions Fugitives, Op. 22 - set of parts arranged by Sergei Samsonov
During the revolutionary months of 1917, Prokofiev protected himself from the world and composed prolifically. This was the time when he wrote this cycle of haunting piano miniatures, which Prokofiev himself called "things that fly past." Each short movement is highly distinctive, painted in brightly contrasted colors. This arrangement for strings makes a fine and unusual addition to the repertoire.
