It is full of the mischief, humor, love, honor, and pathos that one might encounter if you went to hear works such as Don Giovanni, Cosi fan tutte, or The Abduction from the Seraglio. In these works Romberg uses main themes from tow of Mozart's most celebrated operas, The Marriage of Figaro and The Magic Flute, to compose three sets of variations for violin and cello, each one developing a dramatic storyline of their own."
