Stringplay Around the World--Flexible Arrangements for Junior String Ensembles
By David Brooker. These flexible arrangements sound effective when played by any combination from a duo to a full string orchestra. The basic format is the same as that of 'Stringplay' (UE21231) and again there are parts for each piece which can be tackled by near beginners. In this volume, however, there are more demanding parts too. As before, in the previous volume, the pieces are designed to be used in a verse format. Although you can use them as they stand, varying the number and combination of parts in each 'verse' lets you easily construct an arrangement tailor-made to your ensemble. In larger ensembles, more advanced players might choose to play a different part in each verse whereas those less able will probably want to stay with just one or two. Very many variations are possible. Includes Oh, du lieber Augustin, Jasmine Flower, Kalinka, Rocky Mountain and Tumbalalaika. Parts and scores may be freely photocopied and their layout is designed to give as much flexibility as possible.
