Six Early Sonatas for Piano, Violin (or Flute) and Cello, K.10-15
These six (early sonatas II) which Mozart composed in London in 1764 and dedicated to the Queen of England are works of transition: by adding a considerably independent cello part, Mozart transformed into a piano trio the traditional piano sonata with ad lilbitum accompaniment by a melodic instrument (violin or flute). This offers performers exciting insights into the genesis of a new genre and into the creative world of an eight-year-old child prodigy.
