Play All Day - Mid-Elementary Level
Description: Play All Day is a happy little piece written in the key of C Major, but with neither hand in the “C position.” It has an F sharp and uses a two-note 8th note pattern which repeats up two octaves. It ends with a repeated pattern which ends on the lowest C of the keyboard.
Purpose: This selection will help the student learn to read more proficiently and become more confident in playing both high and low notes on the piano. This piece contains a text which fits the melody and will help the students to play the eighth note rhythm more easily. Reading on ledger lines of C, D and E with the left hand is presented.
Suggestions for Instruction: This would be a great one to sing together a few times, or perhaps the teacher could play it while the students say or sing the words. Find the patterns which repeat and go up or down, and practice these first. Strive to keep the beat steady.
