Lee Dengler is so good at cradling a quality text in the arms of expressive and effective music. This anthem is ideal for World Peace observances or for Lenten services where spiritual calmness is emphasized. The classic text by John Oxenham connects these two concepts as being interwoven and this timely concept is as needful today as it was when it was first penned. We are reminded that peace will never come without Christ as our foundation. A simple, unison “amen” ends this profoundly moving choral. Elegant writing!
