Parts available separately for violin, viola, cello, and bass. Each book contains eight pieces, with orchestrations for three of them. For private instruction, the solos can be performed on violin, viola, cello, or bass, with piano accompaniment. For group instruction, the solos can be performed as group solos for violins, violas, cellos or basses, with piano accompaniment. For ensemble playing -- since each student book contains the melody and the orchestra part, two, three, or four students can enjoy playing as an ensemble. The piano accompaniment is recommended, but not necessary. In the string orchestra, the solos can be performed by one section or by the entire string orchestra as a unison solo, with piano accompaniment. The three orchestrated solos can be performed in various ways.
