M.M. Magazine was created to offer new music by living composers to the public. All compositions are short, most are either one or two pages, none being more than three pages in length. We look forward to being an outlet for composers who wish to bring their music to a wider audience. In this first issue all compositions are for solo piano. A CD is included with the magazine with all compositions found in Vol 1 No 1. The pianist performing Debra's music is Elizabeth Wolff, recorded during a live performance. The music of Hagar and McBride is computer generated using piano sounds found in Sibelius music notation software. Many compositions in this first issue are accessible to piano students who are interested in the study of new music. Other works in this issue require a reasonable amount of pianistic proficiency. The brevity of the compositions is intended to give an opportunity for those who wish to study short contemporary works in the hope that more interest in contemporary music will be the result. Composers may find M.M. Magazine to be an excellent way for reaching an interested musical community.
