Led Zeppelin I
In 1968, Jimmy Page, already a successful London studio musician at 23, and a member of the pivotal blues-rock group The Yardbirds, became the last remaining member of the band, left with the band name, and obligated to complete a tour. Page formed a new touring band - The New Yardbirds - featuring himself on guitar, fellow London session ace John Paul Jones on bass and keyboards, John Bonham on drums, and Robert Plant on vocals, to finish the tour. Borrowing from an ironic dig from the WhoÂ's Keith Moon at the bandÂ's likelihood for success, the band soon changed their name - and our whole concept of rock music.
