Each piece is like a 'snapshot' of a real, semi-improvised performance. That is because klezmer musicians typically take a melody and its chords only as a starting point from which to freely improvise ornamentation and variations in each performance. Our goal in creating these arrangements was to capture that sound and style as much as possible, not just to give you the 'notes and chords' to klezmer music."
