Reclaiming a treasure of Yiddish music that was about to be lost, this series compiles out-of-print sheet music formerly available only in libraries and special collections. The music is from the '20s, '30s, and '40s, the heydey of Yiddish culture and theater in the US. Editor Velvel Pasternak collected the last copies of these songs and preserved them in seven volumes of classic folk, liturgical, and Yiddish theatre music. Many of the songs are not available anywhere else, and none of these classic arrangements exist outside this series. This is the most authentic early 20th Century Yiddish music available.
