GYPSY DANCE (composer L. E. CARTER)
Gypsy Dance was premiered by the composer, at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall in 2005. Since then it has been performed many times and has now been chosen as one of the required audition pieces for the national high school flute choir for The National Flute Association Convention in 2008. Gypsy Dance was inspired by the playful, adventurous and reckless spirit of a gypsy. Its vigorous and twisting melody and 5/8 time signature will keep you dancing until the end.
