Four Old Flemish Christmas Carols Op.115
Full score (doubles as vocal score) (Eng./ Flem.) -- These carols are a little off the beaten track, but quite lovely and very accessible. They can be sung in English or the original Flemish. Each of the carols begins with a unison (or can also be done as a solo) singing of the tune, with subsquent verses being for SSA or TB, building to a final SATB verse, sometimes with organ accompaniment. Short (4 to 8 bar) instrumental interludes (intermezzi) break up the verses. The interludes vary in color, not unlike the verses, with instrumentation ranging from solo recorder to oboe/bassoon duet to trumpet/trombone quintet.
