FANTAISIE ON HUNGARIAN THEMES
Ophee has chosen this little-known concert piece, originally written for the Viennese 10-string guitar, as his fourth entry in The Guitarist's Repertoire. A challenging set of Hungarian motifs, perhaps chief among them the ""Rßk?czi March"" (a version which Ophee suggests may have led to the adaptations of Berlioz and Liszt). Ophee's background information and his enumeration of modifications for performance on the 6-string guitar are priceless, and his editing is exact.
