Cave Of The Winds - for String Orchestra Score and Parts
Cave of the Winds was originally written by Robert Nathanial Dett as a march for piano and subtitled March and Two Step. Devon Morales arranged this boisterous, carnival romp with lightness and frivolity at a Level 3. Students will enjoy performing chromatic scales, hooked bows, and triplet 16th notes to create a playful rendition of a march which was said to have been admired by John Philip Sousa. Morales' instrumentation provides a clarity to this march, allowing the melody to shine through while the other voices bounce along underneath. Cave of the Winds by Dett, arranged by Morales, is a fun and entertaining piece for players and audiences alike!
