Taken from the larger work, "Tenebrae: A Service of Darkness", "Could You Not Watch" transports us back to that fateful night in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus' plaintive words to His disciples are echoed by the choir and congregation as a soloist sings the prayer to His Father. This emotional work is the perfect choice for Maundy Thursday or any time during Holy Week. Parts for congregation and optional oboe are included within the choral score.
