There can be no doubt of the influence that Billy Mayerl's distinctive piano style has had on many of today's leading jazz artists. Although he died in 1959, his compositions such as "Marigold," "The Jazz Master," "Hollyhock," and "White Heather" are being listened to and played with ever increasing frequency. This collection, which includes many of Billy's best-known compositions, is a tribute to a man whose unique talents are only just beginning to be appreciated.
