The premise of this musical is that young people today understandably cannot feel the same connection between their lives and that of Martin Luther King, Jr. as do older generations, who remember him as a contemporary. The writers of Born to Freedom have created a meaningful, yet wonderfully entertaining, musical to provide this connection.
