Bounce - for Two Bassoons
(1988)
Daugherty is one of the most popular and most performed composers by bassoonists today. Bounce was his first work for bassoon and features one of Daugherty's compositional signatures - two like instruments, spaced well apart from each other, trading contrapuntal material. Bounce alternates magically between slow, expressive “soulful” sections and rhythmic, driving “funky” sections. Duration - ca. 8:30
