Based on poems by Judson Evans. Four Haiku Poems is a mini-cycle cast in four songs of 11 bars or less. A “Panopticon” is a building which is organized so that all elements of the interior can be seen from a single point, like in a hospital or library. Panopticon is comprised of four movements: I. Recitative, II. Aria, III. Intermezzo, and IV. Barcarolle.
