Composed by Henri Tomasi, Tryptique can be played by a Bb or a C Trumpet with a Piano accompaniment.
This piece is divided into three parts of approximately 2 pages each: 1. Scherzo, 2. Largo and 3. Saltarelle. The Saltarelle part includes the use of the sourdine and has numerous accidental alterations.
With a high level of difficulty, this piece is ideal for contests and recitals.
Henri Tomasi also composed a variety of concerti for Alto Saxophone and for Trombone, as well as some ballades.
