Mountain Dance (composer Ed Kiefer)
Mountain Dance contains three Appalachian folk songs: ""Cluck Old Hen,"" ""Sourwood Mountain,""and ""Poor Polly."" It was written to depict the Appalachian region of the country and its heritageof bluegrass music and fine musicianship. Hints of Irish music can be heard, as many of the folksongs from this area were developed by the Irish immigrants who settled in this part of thecountry. These inluences are beautifully embeddedin a truly symphonic setting by composer Ed Keifer.
