For Two to Play (Includes A Fancy by Tomkins and A Verse by Nicholas Carlston
From the notes for this edition: 'A unique feature of this edition is the publication of two of the earliest known compositions for piano four-hands. They were written in England, where the art of the virginal had reached a high standard in the 16th and 17th centuries. The pieces were adapted to our present-day notational system by the editor Franzpeter Goebels. The friends of four-hand piano music now have the possibility to become aquainted with these effective and eloquent pieces, highly praised by specialists.'
