Accelerando Book 1, which includes 72 studies for beginning piano students of any age, may be incorporated from the first piano lesson. To ensure the even development of all fingers, the majority of the studies in Book 1 are written for one hand at a time. The deliberate placement of left-hand-alone studies on left pages, and right-hand-alone studies on right pages, unifies and reinforces the concepts of left-right, bass-treble, and low-high keyboard registers.

Accelerando Book 2, which includes 60 studies for early elementary piano students of any age, is to be used following the completion of Accelerando Book 2. To ensure the continued even development of all fingers, the studies in Book 2 provide equal activities for both hands through a balanced combination of hands-together and hands-alone studies. Transposition assignments are a vital part of Accelerando Book 2. By transposing the studies written in a stable C Major position to other major and minor positions, the student will develop an equal level of comfort and mastery throughout thekeyboard. A complete chart of major and minor 5-finger positions is supplied as a reference tool.

To follow Book 2. Studies in Book 3 provide equal activities for both hands through a combination of parallel motion and contrary motion writing.

To follow Book 3. Writing in Book 4 provides equal activites for both hands through a combination of studies that includes simultaneous activities in parallel motion or contrary motion.
