The Sarabanda for violin and piano (P015a) is a short composition consisting of three pages dated 1897, published here for the first time. The original manuscript is part of the private archive of Potito Pedarra, cataloguer of Ottorino Respighi's compositional legacy.
The publication of this madrigal-like chorus marks the first time a separate octavo from Ottorino Respighi's (1879-1936) Laud to the Nativity has been made available. Dance with the shepherds as they go to Bethlehem in this sprightly piece, whose rhythms and harmonies evoke the spirit of the Renaissance. The original Italian text and an English singing text make this a versatile addition to the choral library of churches and schools.

James Curnow's adaptations of classic works for younger groups have become standard literature for many directors who seek the highest quality works for their younger groups. This edition of Respighi's famous finale to the Pines Of Rome is a real gem, putting the original's power and majesty within the reach of most bands.
Long considered to be one of the most dramatic symphonic movements of all time, Respighi's finale is arranged to make it accessible and effective for intermediate-level groups. The tension-building final section of this monumental work has been carefully scored by Stephen Bulla to give your orchestra the opportunity to perform the triumphant ending of all endings. (English Horn cross-cued)
For Concert Band.
The Pines of Rome is Respighi's most notable and durably popular composition, and this transcription for band by Guy Duker has long been considered a staple in the literature. With its specific musical imagery and brilliant scoring, this is truly a magnificent and rewarding work for mature bands.
