Arranged here with piano reduction. First performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra on December 11, 1980, with Elmar Oliveira as the soloist with the composer as conductor. On the 1989 Carnegie Hall American Music competition repertory list. Duration: ca. 27 minutes.

Known for incorporating lyrical style into a contemporary context and combining tonal and atonal elements, Ezra Laderman has written for many mediums. Here he has created a 4 movement suite for unaccompanied flute which will challenge the advanced student or budding performer.

Composed in 1998, Laderman's Violin Duets are miniature meditations, each composed in a single session, a day, a few hours, that performed together accumulate artistic weight through comparison and contrast.
