Sonate Op. 49
According to the editor, Gouvy (1783-1860), belonged to the composers of past periods who, although well-known and successful during their lifetime, fell into nearly total oblivion after their death. In his works "it is just the mixture of typically 'French' elements with their ease, delicacy, clarity and charm..with 'German' elements of expression, ambitious form and romantic depth..." which gives the music special character.
