Canadandaigua Quartet - Score and Parts (1996) - duration: ca. 18 minutes
Albert Glinsky is the recipient of the 1998 Walter Hinrichsen Award, presented via the auspices of the American Acdemy and Institute of Arts and Letters. The work takes its name from the beautiful lake in Western New York State which served as the backdrop for the commissioning of the piece. The Canandaigua Quartet draws much of his harmonic and rhythmic raw material from contemporary popular forms: rock, folk-rock, and jazz.
