The first edition of these works in nearly 150 years, the Op. 41 Etudes were required repertoire for pianists at entrance exams to the Conservatoire and at juries during the nineteenth century. The editor describes them as "fine additions to the repertoire, replete with lovely themes and effective virtuoso writing."
