A tender prequel to "Let's Do It, Let's Fall in Love," Cole Porter's "You Do Something to Me" is a perennial classic from Porter's 1929 musical Fifty Million Frenchmen. It is a highly regarded standard at weddings and other events. This tune provides an elegant, slow-moving melody that allows string musicians to express their romantic sentiment. Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin" was made famous by Frank Sinatra. The phrasing in this arrangement imitates Sinatra's big band phrasing. Improvise to embellish the melody and learn how to play with just enough variation to make it uniquely yours. Arranger: Mimi Rabson.
Composed by David Baerwald, arranged by Carla Boardman. Can be played as an instrumental or to accompany vocalists.
The elegant tango "Comme Il Faut" was written by the great player, composer, and bandleader Eduardo Arolas (also known as "El Tigre del Bandoneon") between 1917 and his untimely death in 1924. Crisp rhythmic eighth notes and beautiful singing melodic lines converge to create this clean and proper tango. A tribute to violinist and bandleader Enrique Mario Francini (1916-1978), "Francini" captures the beautiful style and tone of the tangos written by its namesake. All members of the string quartet share the limelight at different times during the playing of this dignified piece.

Radiohead Hits for String Quartet. Orchestral in scope, but rock by instrumentation, Radiohead pushed the musical limits of rock music with its 1997 landmark album OK Computer. This arrangement of the album's epic track "Paranoid Android" will challenge any string quartet. Tricky rhythms and time-signature changes are just the tip of the iceberg for this complex piece of music. Polar opposite in tone to "Paranoid Android" is the Grammy-nominated song "House of Cards" (In Rainbows, 2007), an uncharacteristically relaxed Radiohead love ballad. Melodically deadpan, the crux of the song lies in the rhythmic groove created by the guitar figure faithfully played in this string quartet arrangement by the viola.
